Working with Businesses Worldwide

Today, business leaders are seeking community engagement strategies that will help them:

  • achieve strategic business goals and meet expectations for the “triple bottom line”;
  • attract and retain the best employees by responding to their expectations;
  • build the knowledge and leadership skills of their employees;
  • leverage limited resources to have a demonstrable impact on community problems.

They are seeking strategies that make a real difference.

CSCG is a global network of experienced, innovative consultants who have demonstrated their ability to build community engagement strategies that meet these expectations – through world class consultation and training, knowledge development, and program development.

What We Do

Innovative Tools for High Impact

We know that there is too much to do and too little time in which to do it. Our tools respond to immediate operational needs.

Consultation and Training

We provide a full range of consultation and training services – from diagnosing the current status of programs as they relate to the company’s strategic goals to developing strategic business plans for program development to analyzing realities in target countries and identifying potential partners to training staff, trouble-shooting, and leading “learning for continuous improvement” activities.

  • Planning the Work and Writing the Plan – a disciplined, step-by-step approach to identifying desired outcomes, building strategies, identifying and dealing with barriers to success, and constructing persuasive business plans.

  • Providing Ongoing Support – strategic counsel for senior executives and line managers; developing tools tailored to meet specific needs; troubleshooting and problem-solving worldwide; knowledge and skill training for implementation staff.

  • Building Strategic Impact – program design to develop individual and organizational learning; developing strategies for global program development; developing effective partnerships with NGOs and governments; benchmark reports tested against world class best practices.

Knowledge Development

We are on the cutting edge of knowledge development about corporate community involvement worldwide. By learning from those who are doing, we can identify emerging trends and best practices, convert them to useful knowledge, and build tools that support individual clients and advance the field.

We are proud to have been chosen to assist Businesses Strengthening America in the development of their 2003 National Research Survey on Corporate and Employee Volunteering.

Other examples of our Knowledge Development work include:

  • “There’s an Elephant in My Bathtub!” Building High Impact Volunteer Partnerships between Business and Nonprofits (to be published in Fall 2004) draws on the experience of over 40 corporate and nonprofit practitioners in 25 countries to provide a comprehensive, user friendly resource for both businesses and nonprofit – one done with a totally global perspective.

  • “Learning by Doing” – based on interviews with 10 companies in 8 countries, identifies effective strategies for using employee engagement in the community to build knowledge and skills.

  • “The Social Case for Corporate Volunteering” (in the Australian Journal on Volunteering) is a first examination of the rationale for corporate volunteering written from the perspective of nonprofit organizations – why it is important for them and what they need to know about why it is important for business.
